Sonxy Tower

Sonxy Tower is an unclimbed peak located in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan, specifically near the Biafo Glacier area. It is part of a cluster of mountains in one of the most rugged and remote parts of the world. While the exact elevation is uncertain, it's estimated to be around 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) in height, and it's known for its steep faces and challenging terrain. The peak remains unclimbed due to difficult access, harsh weather conditions, and its technical difficulty.

Tour Itinarary

• Arrive in Islamabad and transfer to your hotel. • Briefing on the expedition and preparation for the trek.

• Fly or drive from Islamabad to Skardu (flight depends on weather conditions). • Stay overnight in Skardu and rest.

• Drive from Skardu to Askole, the last settlement before starting the trek (about 6-7 hours). • Overnight stay in Askole.

• Begin the trek towards Jhola, crossing streams and walking through beautiful valleys. • Camp at Jhola.

• Trek through Biafo Glacier to reach Paiju. • Overnight camping in Paiju.

• Continue trekking along the glacier to Khoburtse, a beautiful site with glacier views. • Rest day to acclimatize.

• Head towards the base camp of Sonky Tower. This stage involves rough terrain and higher altitudes. • Setup camp near the base of Sonky Tower.

• Spend these days preparing for the ascent. This includes acclimatization, equipment check, and route mapping. • Depending on weather conditions, attempt the first stages of climbing.

• Attempt the summit of Sonky Tower. Due to its technical difficulty, this day might involve mixed climbing, rock, and ice techniques. • Return to the base camp.

• Begin the descent back towards Khoburtse.

• Complete the trek back to Skardu. Rest and relax.

• Fly or drive back to Islamabad.
