Double Peak, located in the Aling Valley of the Karakoram Range in northern Pakistan, is an awe-inspiring mountain that offers an exciting challenge for trekkers and climbers looking for adventure in one of the most rugged and remote areas of the region. Aling Valley, a relatively lesser-known area compared to more famous Karakoram valleys, provides a unique experience with its stunning landscapes, glaciers, and impressive peaks, including the Double Peak.

Tour Itinarary

Arrive in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Stay overnight in Islamabad and attend an expedition briefing.

Travel to Skardu by either flight or jeep. Stay overnight in Skardu to acclimatize.

Rest day

After breakfast, drive to Hushe Valley (approx. 4–5 hours). Reach Hushe, a picturesque village at the base of the Karakoram Range. Meet the local people and enjoy the stunning views of mountains like Masherbrum and Rakaposhi. Overnight stay at a guesthouse or camp.

Begin the trek to Aling Valley. Cross streams, walk through valleys and rocky terrain.

Trek towards the Aling Glacier Base Camp (approx. 6-7 hours). Pass through boulder fields and ice sections. Set up camp at the base camp, surrounded by massive peaks.

Continue trekking to the base camp near Double Peak. This part of the trek will involve navigating glaciers and steep rocky slopes. Set up base camp and prepare for the climb.

Attempt the summit of Double Peak, which will involve rock and ice climbing techniques. The climb is challenging due to the mixed terrain, steep slopes, and high-altitude conditions. Spend additional time acclimatizing if necessary, and reach the summit.

After summiting, descend back to the base camp in Aling Valley.

Trek back to Aling Valley. Check into your guesthouse and enjoy a hearty meal.

Drive back to Skardu (approx. 4-5 hours). Check into your hotel and relax. Explore any local attractions you missed earlier.

Drive or fly from Skardu to Islamabad and depart.
