About Peaks

Basoo Peak, located in the Khuspang Valley of the Karakoram Range, is a lesser-known but significant mountain that presents opportunities for experienced trekkers and climbers. Like many peaks in the Karakoram, Basoo Peak is surrounded by dramatic landscapes and untouched beauty. The Khuspang Valley itself is relatively remote, offering a unique experience for those who venture into its wilderness. Basoo Peak stands at an approximate height of 6,000 meters (19,685 feet), similar to many of its neighboring peaks.

Tour Itinarary

• Arrive in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. • Stay overnight in Islamabad, with a briefing on the upcoming expedition.

• Take a domestic flight or drive to Skardu. • Overnight stay in Skardu for acclimatization.

Drive from Skardu to Hushe Valley (approx. 4-5 hours). Enjoy the scenic journey through rivers, rugged terrain, and local villages. Arrive in Hushe, check into your guesthouse or camp. Rest for the night and enjoy dinner with views of the surrounding mountains.

Trek from Hushe to Khuspang Valley (approx. 6-7 hours). Walk through lush meadows, crossing streams and passing small villages. Camp in Khuspang, surrounded by magnificent views of the Masherbrum and other surrounding peaks.

Acclimatization day in Khuspang to adjust to the altitude. You can take a short hike to nearby viewpoints for great panoramas of the glaciers and peaks. Spend the rest of the day resting at the camp.

Begin the trek towards the Basoo Peak base camp (approx. 6-7 hours). The trail gets steeper as you approach the base camp. Cross glacier fields, rugged terrain, and boulder patches. Set up camp at the base camp with amazing views of Basoo Peak and surrounding summits.

Spend the day resting and acclimatizing at the base camp. Optional: Take a short hike or explore the nearby terrain to help with altitude adjustment. Prepare for the summit attempt the next day.

• Attempt the summit of Basoo Peak. The climb will involve technical rock and ice climbing, as well as high-altitude challenges. • Spend a couple of days summiting and then descending back to the base camp.

• Begin the descent back to Khuspang Valley and then to Skardu.

• Drive back to Skardu from Hushe.

• Travel from Skardu to Islamabad.
