Yermanendu Kangri is a stunning and challenging peak located in the Karakoram Range, specifically within Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. At an elevation of approximately 7,000 meters (22,966 feet), it offers an exceptional challenge for experienced rock climbers and mountaineers seeking a technical ascent in a remote part of the Karakoram. Though it is not as well-known as some of the other peaks in the region like K2 or Nanga Parbat, Yermanendu Kangri presents a unique opportunity for those looking to push their limits in high-altitude rock climbing. The peak is characterized by steep rock faces, glaciers, and mixed climbing conditions, making it ideal for technical rock and ice climbing. The combination of alpine rock climbing and icy conditions at high altitudes makes this peak a suitable challenge for climbers with advanced skills.

Tour Itinarary

• Arrive in Skardu via jeep or flight from Islamabad. • Rest and acclimatize in Skardu. • Briefing and preparation for the trek. • Overnight in a guesthouse.

• Travel by jeep from Skardu to Hushe Valley (approx. 6-7 hours). • Overnight camp in Hushe Valley.

• Begin trekking from Hushe Valley towards the Yermanendu Kangri Base Camp, crossing glaciers, rivers, and rocky terrain. • The trek takes around 3-4 days depending on pace and terrain. • Set up Base Camp (around 4,800 meters).

• Spend a few days at Base Camp for acclimatization. • Explore surrounding ridges and peaks for acclimatization. • Prepare for the technical climb and make sure equipment is in order.

• Begin the technical climb, setting up Camp 1 at a higher altitude (around 5,400 meters). • Climb through mixed rock and ice sections. • Rest and acclimatize at Camp 1.

• Continue the climb to Camp 2 (around 5,800 meters). • The terrain becomes steeper, requiring more technical climbing on rock walls and glaciers. • Set up Camp 2 and rest for acclimatization.

• After acclimatizing at Camp 2, make the final push to the summit. • This will involve a challenging ascent up steep rock walls and glaciers. • The summit day may take 8-10 hours depending on the route conditions.

• After summiting Yermanendu Kangri, descend back to Base Camp. • Make sure to carefully descend through glaciers and rocky terrain. • Spend the night at Base Camp.

• Begin the trek back to Hushe Valley from Base Camp. • Once back in Hushe Valley, take a jeep to Skardu.

• Depart from Skardu to Islamabad or onward destinations.
