The Nayser Brakk (5200m) is an intriguing rock climbing peak located in the Charakusa Valley, in the Hushe region of northern Pakistan. It is part of the Karakoram Range, a globally renowned mountain range known for its technical climbs and rugged beauty. The peak's height and its location in the remote Charakusa Valley make it an exciting destination for experienced rock climbers seeking a challenging ascent in a relatively less-crowded part of the Karakoram. Nayser Brakk offers a relatively accessible yet challenging climb, as it stands at 5,200 meters. While not as high as some of the towering peaks in the Karakoram, it is perfect for climbers looking for a rock-climbing challenge with the added beauty of a high-altitude environment. The Charakusa Valley is a well-known destination for mountaineers and climbers, with its stunning landscapes, steep rock faces, and its proximity to peaks like Charakusa Tower and Biacherahi Towers. The valley itself is not as popular as other climbing areas in the Karakoram, making it a more secluded and peaceful destination.

Tour Itinarary

• Arrive in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. • Rest and recover from your flight. • Meet your team and attend a briefing about the trek, the route, and safety measures.

Early morning flight to Skardu (flights are subject to weather), if unable to fly we will depart for Skardu by road with overnight stay at Chilas. Overnight stay in hotel at Chilas.

In case of flight has operated we will go for sightseeing tour of Skardu and in case no flight, the day will be used for over land travel from Chilas to Skardu (total drive is 22 – 24 hrs from Islamabad to Skardu). Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.

Drive from Skardu to Hushe Village (around 5-6 hours by jeep). Hushe serves as the starting point for treks to various peaks in the Charakusa Valley, including Nayser Brakk. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse or camp in Hushe.

Begin the trek from Hushe to the Charakusa Valley base camp, which is approximately 3-4 days of trekking. The trail passes through rocky paths, glaciers, and stunning valleys, offering beautiful views of the Karakoram mountains. Set up camp and rest on the way, acclimatizing to the altitude.

Reach the Charakusa Valley Base Camp, located at around 4,000 meters. Set up camp and acclimatize. This is an important stage to adjust to the altitude and prepare for the climb. Explore the surroundings, and plan the logistics for the summit attempt on Nayser Brakk.

Rest and acclimatization days at base camp. Review climbing techniques, gear checks, and go over route details with your guide. Some practice climbing on smaller rock formations or boulders in the valley.

Begin the technical ascent of Nayser Brakk. The climb to the summit involves rock climbing, with mixed sections of scrambling and vertical rock faces. Set up high-altitude camps depending on progress. Typically, a Camp 1 will be set up at around 4,800 meters to break the climb into manageable stages. The summit attempt will be a demanding ascent, requiring proper technique, endurance, and the ability to navigate rocky, vertical terrain.

Complete the final push to the summit of Nayser Brakk (5,200m). Enjoy the views from the top, which offer expansive vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys in the Charakusa region. Descend safely back to base camp.

After the descent from the summit, begin the return trek to Hushe Village, retracing the path through Charakusa Valley. Depending on the time and energy, climbers can break the trek into two or three days, camping along the way.

From Hushe, take a jeep back to Skardu. Final night in Skardu to rest and celebrate the successful climb.

Travel back to Islamabad via flight or road. Rest in Islamabad before heading to the airport for departure.
