Gondogoro Peak is a striking and challenging peak located in the Karakoram Range of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Standing at an elevation of 5,585 meters (18,323 feet), it is a popular peak among climbers who are looking for an exciting yet achievable summit in the heart of the Karakoram. While not as famous as other towering giants like K2, Gondogoro Peak offers technical climbing, stunning landscapes, and views of some of the region’s most iconic mountains, including Masherbrum and Broad Peak.

Tour Itinarary

• Arrive in Skardu via flight or jeep from Islamabad. • Rest and acclimatize in Skardu. • Briefing and preparation for the trek. • Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

• Travel by jeep from Skardu to Hushe Valley (approx. 7-8 hours). • Overnight stay in Hushe Valley.

• Begin trekking from Hushe Valley towards Gondogoro Glacier and Base Camp (around 4,700 meters). • The trek takes approximately 3-4 days, passing through glaciers, rocky terrain, and alpine meadows. • Set up Base Camp and rest for acclimatization.

• Spend a few days at Base Camp for acclimatization. • Take day hikes to nearby ridgelines and higher altitudes to help acclimatize and adjust to the conditions. • Prepare for the technical climb and check equipment.

• Begin the climb toward Camp 1 (around 5,400 meters), which is set up on the lower reaches of the peak. • The climb includes traversing glaciers and rock sections, with some steep and technical areas. • Spend the night at Camp 1 for further acclimatization.

• Continue the ascent to Camp 2 (around 5,800 meters). • Prepare for the final push to the summit, which will involve more technical climbing on rock and ice. • The ascent to the summit of Gondogoro Peak is challenging, requiring the use of ropes, ice axes, and crampons. • Reach the summit on Day 14 and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

• After summiting, begin the descent back to Base Camp. • Carefully descend through rocky terrain and glaciers. • Rest at Base Camp.

• Begin the trek back from Base Camp to Hushe Valley. • Once at Hushe, return by jeep to Skardu.

• Depart from Skardu to Islamabad or onward destinations.
